  • Sleep Talking

I'm wondering if there's a Sleep talking in tongues spiritual gift...
The reason is:  my roomie nate talks in his sleep...
But he doesn't talk in engish!! he speaks in Indonesian... (I think)

    SO

I set up a microphone in my room attached to my video camera so I can
document some of his night time indonesian shenannigans.  I swear
he's just trying to scare me .

Next time he busts out with a foreign language in his sleep, I'll get it on my camera and find someone who can translate.

The weird thing is, Nate only knows a couple of phrases in Indonesian. But it sounded like he was carrying on a converstion for about 15- 20 seconds!

No luck last night, but I'll get him maybe tonight!

Covertly attempting to get my sister to plan it didn't really work...
On Behalf of Kendel and Nate and everyone else who wants to do a
    bonfire this Friday....

BONFIRE FRIDAY! Time is going to be... 5 or 6 pm.
Hard core people are going to be there earlier around 11 or so.

    Nate can you bring sodas?
Michelle could you repost directions for everyone (I've forgotten them)
Kendel could you bring beach towels or something to sit on?

If you are going to go, bring 3 dollars to help offset the cost of food and Firewood.

Reply to me if you'd like to attend. so I can know how much food to bring.

  • VIVA LA RASA!

    MEXICO TRIP!

Welcome to Mexico... and Michelle's Vibrant and shiny hair.

Not much of a better vew, but oh well, this is the boarder.

We get to sleep in tents? Nate got a cot.

This is Daniel, According to his shirt, his mind is closed until further notice.  But he's got the biggest cot in the tent.

We're here to lay out wood... Here's the job site.

Michelle is digging up the ground to make sure it is Level.
Notice she's showing up all the guys as they stand around watching.

    Puppy Pit bull! So cute.

    Get off my pants

Haha you have a leash... (I'm not cruel, really I'm not =)

Andrew putting on the gloves... it's on!

    Breaking ground.

We noticed one side was higher than the other.

    After we did this...

So we went to the side of the road and moved some dirt from there.
Notice there is a chord running between shannon and Kendel.
That's an electrical wire that we almost accidentally cut into!

Andrew, Shannon, Kendel.  yes her name is Kendel. We all thought Kendel was a guy.

Hm... Nope, we need more sand.

    Time to level the sand.

    Tada!

    Look, the sand is level!

Lets start cutting pieces of wood for the frame.

Cement work... Lots of hard work... mixing... pouring... it took forever.

We meet to discuss the plans for the following day.

I think I skipped a few pictures... We're putting up the frame of the house here.

After the frame is leveled, we place these diagonal pieces across the boards so it "locks" it into place.

Michelle hard at work making a frame... wait, nevermind, that looks like a roof piece.

Here is the roof added to the house.

This is the original home of the family we are building this "Amor"
house for.  The dog's name is dubbed "Stinky"... You guessed why =)

Day 3 We are warming our hands in our armpits.

    Cheezy I know. =)

Rolana is making sure no one takes any extra breaks.

    On the roof =).

They didn't plan this... They couldn't see each other behind Casy's hat... Weird how they both make similar funny faces...

Oop, skipped a few pictures again! These were taken on the way back
from Mexico... We're stuck in traffic trying to cross the boarder.

    Stinky and her puppy. Poppy.

Here's a little story about Stinky and how she got her name.
Stinky was playing in the "water hole" and got a little wet on her
backside.  She saw that Philip, Michelle, and Shannon P. were
taking a break.  Stinky decided to come over and give them
    company. Stinky was up wind.

    Shannon: What is that smell?
    Philip: I didn't do it...
    Michelle: It smells like...
    Philip: Cat piss?
    Michelle: Gross.
    -All three see stinky.
Shannon: Gross, Philip, make her go away please!
Philip: What? I didn't bring her here.
    Michelle: Shoo.  Shoo.
-Stinky gets excited and starts wagging her tail and walking towards Michelle...

    I think Stinky is winning.

Daniel and Bronco, Who will win?

We gave the family some coloring books and some house wares.

Whoa, this is out of order!  This is the frame with Bailing wire.

Hm... this looks familiar! Michelle is working on the roof.

    Jim, Cassy and Jae.

    Kendal the girl

A family walking home.  The boy has a bat and a ball.

Jessie and Andrew taking a break.

    Jessie is a Christian

This is the finished house.  With stucco.  I didn't take a
picture of us putting the stucco on because my hands were cemented with
stucco. (spelling of stucco? I'll have to google it later)

Why is there this spot in every one of my shots? Can you spot the spot? It's so obvious now...

    Michelle before taking my picture.

Michelle after taking my picture and checking to see if she got the picture of me taking a picture of her sitting there.

Inside the house. It was suprisingly very cool inside of the house
during the middle of the day.  The wallpaper will be put up by the
    family at a later day.

Here is the outside of the house.  We haven't added the door on this one yet.

Awe, the cute family!  But that girl holds a secret. Look at her shirt!
    What the???

    Yeah

This is the window, we already got 2 bugs on it =P

These are the kids helping out.

Boy with the bat and ball again.

    Ah the finished product.

Don't try to make sense out of the pictures, you'll only hurt yourself.

Kevin is a paramedic... on the left.

Could you cut off my arm? and reattach it?

    Rolana working on the frame.

    More frame work.

    And more frame work.

    Its Over!

Time to cross the Mexican / U.S. boarder.  This guy's asking for
money...  It was weird, going through the boarder.  It was
like a long drive through Dim Sum.  People were walking around
trying to sell you everything from Churros (we got like 5 of them) and
Ice cream and water, to Crusifixes and giant Mexico flags.

We all had to make sure we had our driver's licenses out.  Or else we'd get stopped at the boarder.

I got some wicked sunburn on my forehead! it's peeling!
